Qatar Airways will resume scheduled flights between Doha and Maputo on 21 August, after suspending them on 1May for “operational reasons,” the airline said in a statement.
Qatar Airways will operate three weekly flights, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and the difference from the flights offered between October 2012 and April 2015 is that this time it will use a Boeing 787 “Dreamliner” aircraft on the route.
The statement released by the company in Maputo also said the flights, which will have a stopover in Johannesburg, will mean passengers who get on the flight in Maputo will not have to get off the plane in South Africa.
The Vice President for Africa of Qatar Airways, Jared Lee was quoted in the statement saying that “Mozambique is an important market and the company is pleased with the resumption of flights to Maputo.”
