2015-05-25) Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric (HCB), assisted by Accenture Mozambique, has just launched an initiative called “Developing suppliers: local content” in Songo, Tete province.
HCB commissioned the project to Accenture Mozambique with the intention of contributing to the development of local suppliers, especially considering the previous experience that this consulting firm has in developing similar initiatives in different countries.
A technical team of HCB has been working with a mixed team of international consultants specialised in the area of local content development, and consultants of the local structure of the company who, over the next 16 weeks, will structure the HCB suppliers development project.
From the point of view of the companies implementing initiatives such as these, they understand that these actions increase the quality and the operational efficiency of local businesses in the long term, as well as giving visibility and return to the company’s local commitment and the development of the Songo district community.
